I am an Oklahoma State Department certified teacher. I hold an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Kansas State University, a Master's degree in trumpet performance from the University of Central Oklahoma, a Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching from Oklahoma State University, and will by Spring 2017 have completed a Masters in Education (Educational Technology) from Oklahoma State University. I am currently the elementary music teacher at an urban Title 1 PK-4th grade school. In addition, I have five years of secondary level teaching experience in Kansas, and eight years of experience designing and teaching secondary instrumental and general/technology/worship arts music courses in Oklahoma. The diversity of my professional and personal background equip me with a wide range of experience from which to draw, both creatively and as an educator. Healthy arts programs facilitating rich and varied student opportunities strengthen who we are as a community of human beings. There is much to celebrate in current and historical music education, and I value being part of the community of innovation which supports its continued growth and facilitates increased societal awareness of its relevance.
